Five truths about evangelism

1. Evangelism is sharing the Good News
And the Good News must first be preached to every nation.” Mark 13:10

2. Evangelism is a command
“‘But when the Holy Spirit comes to you, you will receive power. You will be my witnesses--in Jerusalem, in all of Judea, in Samaria, and in every part of the world.’ After he said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud hid him from their sight.” Acts 1:8

3. Evangelism starts with Christians
...as the Scripture says, "Anyone who calls on the Lord will be saved." But before people can ask the Lord for help, they must believe in him; and before they can believe in him, they must hear about him; and for them to hear about the Lord, someone must tell them; and before someone can go and tell them, that person must be sent. It is written, "How beautiful is the person who comes to bring good news." Romans 10:13-15

4. Evangelism works best through friends
"You are the light that gives light to the world. A city that is built on a hill cannot be hidden. And people don't hide a light under a bowl. They put it on a lampstand so the light shines for all the people in the house. In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and will praise your Father in heaven.” Mt. 5:14-16

5. Evangelism isn’t a program, it’s a process
He answered, "I don't know if he is a sinner. One thing I do know: I was blind, and now I see." John 9:25 (Read John 9:1-39)
